Alia Shams

Alia Shams is Amora Shams' mother and BellyDance teacher. When Amora cannot teach the BBDC course, Alia takes her place. Alia is more focused on the spiritual and energetic side of BellyDance, and Amora more on the technical aspect. Students learn well with both teachers, but with Amora, you will learn faster as she developed her own way of teaching in a very technical way for 15 years before she started teaching BBDC in 2008. About Alia Shams

One of the pioneering Oriental Dancers in Spain since 1982 and a pioneer in the return of Andalusi Dance and Music since 1985, hiring the musicians of the Al-Andalusi orchestra of Tangier to perform with her in first-class suarets in Morocco and Spain.

Alia Shams is one of the first Spanish belly dancers in Spain. Alia Shams was originally using the stage name Sahar Samara.

Alia is a qualified drama teacher, she studied ballet, jazz, claket and eventually became a professional flamenco dancer when she discovered the amazing world of belly dancing.

She studied Belly Dancing with two master teachers: Adnan, founder of the US Sufi Association of Iraq, and Hassan Afifi, a famous teacher from Cairo, Egypt.

After a few years of dancing professionally in Egypt and Spain, Alia studied with the 1st Belly Dance School in Spain: Estudio Las Pirámides, based in Madrid. Alia's teacher was the school principal: Shoukry Mohammed. Alia danced all over Egypt, Spain and Morocco.

Alia was considered by the Arabs as the Essence of Belly Dance, because she danced like authentic dancers, from her heart and through Art. Most of her competition of contemporary belly dancers will try to admit Alia, but Real BellyDancing cannot be admitted.

Alia started teaching belly dance in Madrid around 1985, and she trained some of the famous belly dancers. She did not open her own school until 1992, which was the first belly dance school in Andalusia, southern Spain.

Alia is also known as the pioneer Andalusian dancer, who is part of the Tangier Conservatory and who, after being very famous, became very famous with her in her numerous performances.

She was also the winner of 1st prize by presenting 2 of her 3 theater-music-dance works based on the times of Al-andalus, after being excited by the poetry research she conducted at the University of Seville, Spain.

She developed her career in DANCE AL-ANDALUS.

Biography

Alia Shams danced when she was a child, although she began as a dramatic actress, qualified by the Spanish Conservatory, she worked for national and international advanced groups.

She trained in classical ballet, contemporary, flamenco and other dance forms. She was introduced to the magic of oriental dance through Adnan Sharman, a Sufi master from Iraq.

The Egyptians baptized her in 1984 with the stage name Sahar Samara, which she used from the beginning until 1994 when she changed to Alia Shams.

In Egypt she began to investigate the dance that was practiced in Pharaonic times. Based on this and the method she developed for her belly dancing teachings, she wrote "Elemental" and "Anuar al Andalus" which were performed and received an award along with her group of Arab musicians and dancers.

She danced in different countries and places in hotels like "El Minzah" (Tangier), restaurants: Damascus, Aladdin, Pharaon, Jan el Jalili, etc. In Arab clubs like Sijilmassa (Casablanca), discos, etc.

She also dances for conferences. her or popular meetings in open-air settings such as in Las Jaimas de Caños de Meca, or in palaces. Her ritual dances with candles on her head have been required for exhibitions and cultural celebrations such as the Pharaonic Exposition (Casino de Expositions, Seville).

Alia is unique in creating powerful shows. She bases her dance on classical and traditional Egyptian technique, oriental dance, canoon vibration, table solos, nail solos, etc. her and in public audiences with her participation in popular songs danced with cymbals or with the stick.

She was a pioneer many years ago to dance with "Andalusi Music" during her work at the Hotel Minzah (Tangier, Morocco) and when she returned to Spain she returned, after hundreds of years, to European culture through her performances with Orquestra Andalusi from Tangier and began to teach him how to dance the interpretation of this music.
